Rescue story
Giraffe was our first rescue. She came to us back in Florida, before Tennessee, before the hundred acres, before any of this was a thing with a name. Up to that point we had only ever had mini donkeys, so when she stepped off that truck we could not believe the size of her. She is a standard, which we understand perfectly well now, but standing there that day she looked about ten feet tall. She looked like a giraffe. So that is what we called her, and it stuck. Her son came with her. He is Alexander now, though we called him Eyore for years, and the two of them are still bonded all this time later. Years and a whole move to another state, and they are still each other's. She was the first. Everything since has followed from her stepping off that truck.
Virtually adopted
Giraffe is looked after with the help of Devon Greene, whose monthly support pays for feed, feet and vet care.
