Rescue story
Maple came to us from Peaceful Pastures, the rescue that taught us how to do this. They have been at it far longer than we have, and when we were starting out they were the ones we called with questions. When they needed to move a group of jacks, we took them. That is what a mentor relationship looks like once it goes both directions. He arrived as Male number one. That is not a name, it is a place in a line, and he had it before he had anything else. Maple is the oldest of that group. He is gelded now, he is settled, and he has a name that belongs to him alone.
Virtually adopted
Maple is looked after with the help of Reah Kittelberger, whose monthly support pays for feed, feet and vet care.
