Rescue story

In our notes, Rain went in as the new jack. That was it. Not where he came from, not who had him, not how old he was. Just that he was male, he was here, and he was new. We would like to tell you more. We cannot. Somewhere behind him is a whole life we know nothing about, and whoever could fill it in did not come with him. What we can tell you is what is true now. He is a standard donkey. He has grass and shade and a herd. Nobody is going to sell him on or move him along or decide he has stopped being useful. He is available for adoption. Anybody who takes him on will be adopting his future, because that is the only part of him anybody can actually see.
