Rescue story
Taku came in with a group, and when he arrived we had no idea who he was. No history, no age, no account of where he had been. We started calling him Batman around the barn, which is the kind of name that happens when a small black donkey shows up and somebody has to call him something. Then a patron adopted him and chose Taku. He has had three names now and he came by all of them honestly. Not one of them tells you anything about his first years, because nobody does. He is a mini in the main pasture, easy to be around, and he has been here long enough that he is simply part of the place.
