Rescue story

When Tellico got here, he did not have a name. He had a number. Male number eight. He came to us from Peaceful Pastures, the rescue that mentored us, as one of a group of jacks who all moved at once. When a dozen animals arrive on the same day, numbers are how you keep them straight until you can do better. So we did better. Tellico, after the river, like several of the others from that load. He is gelded now. He is a standard donkey in the main pasture, he is available for adoption, and he is nobody's number anymore.
